COVID-19 Emergency Grant Application

Human service nonprofits providing services in Lee and Harnett Counties, North Carolina, may apply for emergency grants to help provide COVID-19-related services to clients. The following requirements must be met:

  • Agency must provide human services in the areas of health, education, and/or financial stability (including basic needs)
  • Agency must be either a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization or must be a public school, college, or university
  • Agency must have a presence and be active in Lee County or Harnett County, North Carolina
  • Agency must not discriminate on the basis of any federally protected classification in its employment practices or program service delivery
  • Agency may be faith-based, but clients must be able to opt out of faith-based messaging and content when applying for or receiving services
  • Agencies that are not currently funded by United Way of Lee County must upload their IRS determination letter and most recent IRS Form 990
  • Incomplete applications will not be considered

Distributions from United Way of Lee County's Community COVID-19 Response Fund are expected to begin when the fund reaches $5,000. The United Way Board of Directors will make final funding decisions. Agencies awarded funding will be required to comply with all United Way reporting requirements.
