Kendra Martin is a native of Greensboro, NC, and came to Sanford in 2007. A graduate of UNC-Greensboro, Kendra also holds the Duke Certificate in Nonprofit Management. She joined the staff of United Way of Lee County in 2014 to oversee its VolunteerLee.com program and became Executive Director of the organization in 2016.
Kendra serves on the Board of Directors of United Way of North Carolina and is a member of several community organizations and task forces, including S3 Housing Connect, addressing homelessness in Lee County; the Community Resilience Collaborative, addressing ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences); the Human Services Technology Advisory Board of Central Carolina Community College; and the Business Impact Committee of the Dunn Chamber of Commerce, among others. She is a member of the Central Carolina Society for Human Resource Management and serves as a Chamber Ambassador with the Sanford Area Growth Alliance. Kendra enjoys connecting people with meaningful opportunities for service. She loves reading, baking, and spending time with her family (especially at the beach!).
