Pam was born and raised in Sanford, NC. She earned a B.A. and M.Ed. from UNC-Greensboro and enjoyed a teaching career in Greensboro Public Schools, Central Carolina Community College, and Lee County Schools. After retiring in 2010, Pam tutored high school students; volunteered with Family Promise through her church, First Presbyterian Church in Sanford; and helped organize One By One, a community-based program which addresses racial justice. She enjoys being outdoors, reading, cooking, and spending time with her beloved family and friends, especially her husband, Edwin, and his historic site of longleaf pines and restored old buildings.
